1) Peace Sheridan. I hope I never see your ass again. Any chance Spags wants his old job back?
2) Also.........
is anyone else completely watching this TCU/Boise game in a bored daze? I can't get into any of these bowl games because they mean nothing. I'll be into the title game Thursday but come on. Also, Francessa is as right about this as he was wrong to say that Edelman douche is 98% as good as Wes Welker.... It would have been so much more fun to watch each of these teams take on BCS powerhouses like Ohio State and Florida. Could you imagine if Boise beat Florida??? I would have my first ever non "my team" sportsgasm. Instead we are left watching a game between two good guys. Boooooring.
3) I've been waiting to rant about this for a while. But why in college sports do coaches who leave programs with ethics violations not get penalized at all. Callipari left both Umass and Memphis with ethics violations causing those programs to get spanked by the NCAA. However, Callipari has been given no suspensions, fines or any other disciplinary action. How is this logical or fair?
4) Finally I am somewhat conflicted about the whole resting your starters thing. I get that teams earn the right to do this based on puting forth outstanding regular seasons. However, it's just awful to watch. The fact that the Jets were literally handed a playoff spot by the Colts and Bengals is a disgrace to the sport. I am not saying this as a bitter Giants fan, it just doesn't seem right. The Steelers won three straight against good teams (Packers, Ravens) and a respectable Miami squad. I am no Steelers fan but it just smells funny that they are left out and the 7-7 Jets get in because the Colts and Bengals lay down. The Colts not going for perfection is a complete joke. Hate Bellicheck all you want but he went for it all in 2007. It was great drama on that Saturday night in the Meadowlands with the Giants locked into the 5 seed taking on the 15-0 pats who were locked into the 1 seed. That was beautiful sports competition at its finest. The Colts Jets game was one of the most sickening displays of sports pussyfication I have ever watched. I hope you lose your first game Colts.
