LA has acquired forward Jeff Halpern from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Teddy Purcell and a 3rd orund pick 

LA gets a reliable defensive center to help add further experience to their young ranks. While he doesnt put up a lot of points anymore he is good on faceoffs and in his own zone. An unrestrictd free agent there is little risk involved in his acquisition and LA will likely let him test the market.

Tampa, who is slipping out of the final playoff spot, wanted to get what they could for a player they would not be re-signing. A 3rd round pick is decent, and the 24 year old Purcell can play either wing and will help fill Tampa's lower lines.

Winner: Tampa. Halpern is a decent third or fourth line center, but I think with a pick and young player Tampa gets a slight edge here.
