The Bruins have acquired defensemen Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartowski from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forwards Byron Bitz, Craig Weller and a 2nd round pick.
This makes the Morris deal a little more sensible, the Bruins getting a puck moving blue liner. Bartowski is a bit of a throw in. Seidenberg is more offensively minded and proves Morris was moved to clear cap space.
Bitz and Weller are a checking forward that adds size and grit to the Panthers lower lines. The main part of this deal is the 2nd round pick, Florida now having two additional 2nd rounders between this and the Leopold deal.
Winner: Even Again one of those deals that benefits one team short term (Bruins) and another long term (Florida).
